Quickstart Guide for Crossroads Demo.

1. Download the “MajorBBS 6.2 Test Drive” (mbbstd62.zip)

2. Download the “Crossroads Demo Disk” (hvsxrdmo.zip)

3. Install the MajorBBS Test Drive

The idea is that you will setup your own “local only” MajorBBS. Be your own sysop! Learn the joys of RIDX!

The MajorBBS Test Drive cannot answer modems, and does not allow “licensed” addons to be installed (so no Internet access either).

But it does let you start the BBS and login from the console (attached keyboard and screen).

4. Install the Crossroads Demo

Once you have the MajorBBS Test Drive running, then install the Crossroads demo into it…

5. Add the Crossroads Module to the BBS Menu

Once the Crossroads software is installed, you will need to go into the Menu Editor and add a menu option to the Menu Tree so you can access Crossroads from inside the running BBS.

6. Boot and Play!

When you are all done installing, you should be able to boot the BBS, login, choose the menu option you created and play in your own Crossroads!

When you start it all up for the first time, be sure to look for the secret Xroads Logo at boot time!

I have been told the Crossroads Demo Disk is limited to only letting characters progress to 4th level.
